Getting back to nature – relaxing the ‘natural’ way

Since our trip last weekend I’m finding that camping is growing on me.

I’ve always liked it, but never really hankered after going. Now I’m hankering. I can’t wait to book the next trip.

There’s just something about getting back to nature, waking up to beautiful views of paddocks and trees instead of houses and barking dogs.

It’s quite cheap therapy really.

There’s nothing quite like watching the kids playing on their bikes, making ramps, playing with sticks, and being able to ride a little out of their parents ever watchful sight without getting into trouble.

Why is that until you go camping you don’t sit back and appreciate the simple things in life, like talking with friends, watching the flames of the fire, cuddling the kids, making damper and cooking potatoes in the hot coals.

I’m so incredibly relaxed today that I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this next hectic week.

Where’s your favourite place to camp?

Our current favourite is Flanagan’s Reserve  (click here for my last blog on this awesome place) near Rathdowney.

The view from our camper trailer….nice!

Favourite Photo Friday – Flowers in Bloom

I took this photo at a friend’s house in New South Wales while we were on our snowy adventure. There is something miraculous about the colours and feeling of Spring. It’s hard not to smile when you see beautiful flowers everywhere.

Favourite Photo Friday – Sunset bush style

This photo was taken 12 months ago on Bush Babe’s property. I LOVE it. Not because it’s brilliant photography (it clearly isn’t) but because it reminds me of a great week that I got to spend with my fabulous girly friends and it’s a reminder that I have another two of those weeks heading my way.

One week in the snow with Bush Babe and then three weeks later my girlfriends and I will head back to Bush Babe territory and have another week of wine and laughter.

There’s nothing quite like good friends.

Favourite Photo Friday – An unexpected visitor

When Miss Princess came running inside to tell me there was a BIG lizard outside, I didn’t really take any notice. Miss Princess is only three, everything is BIG.

But when I almost tripped over this lizard while tidying up outside, I realised she really did see a BIG (ish) lizard and what a pretty one he is.

Anyone know what type this lizard is? I’m too lazy to google it today.

Favourite Photo Friday – Mother’s Day flowers

My fingers are still sore from helping to bunch and tie together nearly 70 bunches of flowers for the mums at our church. But I love the result.
