For the last couple of years we’ve put up with dust….lots and lots and lots of dust. Dust covering everything outside, and a lot of things inside (well that’s been my excuse inside and I’m sticking to it!).
Plus we’ve had the added bonus of the noise of a massive road construction underway and constant delays on the roads in most directions we drive because of road works.
What on earth have they been building you might ask?
A tunnel….a really really big tunnel.
A really really big tunnel that is about to send our property value right through the roof. Thank-you very much tunnel makers!
A tunnel that I’m now instantly in love with, which is a shame because once they start charging a toll for it Mr Fix-It will ban me from using it or steal my toll beeper, one or the other.
It’s Australia’s longest road tunnel at 6.7 kilometres (but I know my Norwegian friends easily beat that, they have some MASSIVE tunnels going on up there) and it cuts my commute to school and back by 10 minutes each way, missing a whole stack of traffic lights.
Hello! That’s an extra ten minutes to run frantically around the house, it could mean the difference between Master Sporty getting his teeth cleaned or not.
Maybe that could be my argument with Mr Fix-It once the toll-free period is up.
“Honey, if you don’t let me use the tunnel then Master Sporty’s teeth are all going to rot and fall out and it will be all. your. fault. So, there”.
I might stop short of poking my tongue out.
Are you in love with any roads or is it just a weird thing I’ve got going on?
Oopsiemumma xo
P.S. This is not a sponsored post, I just really like the tunnel
